Follistatin
The myostatin inhibitor — a protein your body already makes that blocks myostatin, the signal that tells muscle to stop growing.
What is Follistatin?
Follistatin is a naturally occurring glycoprotein that binds and neutralizes myostatin, TGF-beta, and activin — the signals that limit muscle growth.
Your body makes myostatin to keep muscle mass in check. Follistatin does the opposite: it blocks that brake. By inhibiting myostatin, Follistatin helps shift the balance toward lean muscle accrual, improved strength output, and better overall body composition — especially when paired with training and adequate protein.
What Follistatin does
The main mechanisms and effects patients can expect from a well-run protocol.
Lean Muscle Support
- Blocks myostatin at the signal level
- Supports lean tissue growth
- Complements resistance training
Body Composition
- Shifts ratio toward muscle over fat
- Supports strength output
- Helpful during recomposition phases
Recovery
- Patients report faster training recovery
- Less post-workout soreness
- Works well stacked with BPC-157
Structured Cycling
- Short, defined 20-day course
- Designed to be pulsed, not continuous
- Easy to combine with other peptides
Is this right for you?
FOLLISTATIN tends to be a strong fit for patients dealing with the following.
- Patients focused on lean mass and strength
- Athletes running structured recomposition phases
- Patients who plateaued on training alone
- Those stacking with growth hormone blends or IGF-LR3
How to use Follistatin
Your provider has prescribed a protocol tailored to your goals. Here are the key details to keep in mind.
Injection Frequency
One subcutaneous injection daily for 20 consecutive days.
Injection Site
Subcutaneous into the abdomen. Rotate sites daily.
Duration
20-day cycle. Providers typically recommend a break between cycles rather than continuous use.
Storage
Keep refrigerated at all times. Do not freeze. Let the vial warm slightly before injection.
What to expect
Everyone responds differently, but here's what patients typically experience.
Week 1
Subtle changes — most patients don't feel much at first. Training output may feel slightly improved toward the end of the week.
Week 2
Strength and pump quality often start to improve. Recovery between sessions tends to feel faster.
Week 3+
Most noticeable changes in body composition, strength, and lean mass accrue after the cycle completes and training continues.
Side effects
FOLLISTATIN is generally well tolerated. Contact your provider if you experience anything unusual.
- Generally well tolerated
- Mild injection-site reactions
- Occasional mild fatigue early in the cycle
- Rare joint stiffness if training volume spikes too fast
Common questions
Do I still need to train and eat in a surplus?
Yes. Follistatin removes the brake — it doesn't do the work. You still need training and protein to build the tissue.
How often can I run this?
Most patients cycle it once or twice per year based on their training plan and response.
Can I stack it?
Yes. Common stacks include growth hormone blends, IGF-LR3, and recovery peptides like BPC-157.
